Pets

How many pets can I have?

There is a 2 (two) pet cap per unit (cats and dogs). All pets must be registered with the Sierra Pointe HOA. Call our property manager for details or speak with the board.

I work during the day and I don't want to keep Feefee locked up in the house while I'm gone. Can I leave her on the porch as long as she is on a lead?

No. This is dangerous for your pet and your neighbors and is in violation of the rules and regulations regarding pets.

My dog is trained to walk with me without a leash, so I don't need one.

Dogs cannot be set to run/walk freely outside without a leash. This is not only a Sierra Pointe regulation but also a city law. For the safety of your dog and those around you, please keep your dog on a leash at all times when leaving the confines of your condo.

If I registered my pet in December of 2004, and the Pet Registration Week is in July, do I have to register my pet again in July?

No. You need to renew your pet's registration with the HOA every 12 months. If you registered your pet in December, you need to renew no later than the following December.

My cats live indoors and are afraid of shots. Do I really have to get their rabies vaccinations?

Yes. This is a safety and health issue, and if you don't, your pet's registration with the HOA will not be valid. What if your cat got out and bit someone? While none of us want our loved ones to feel pain or be afraid, we still need to do what is in their best interests, and having our pets vaccinated is just one of the ways we can protect them.

I had four pets, two of which had variances issued before June of 2003, but one of the pets on the variance passed away last month. Can I get another pet in its stead?

No. The variance was for that specific pet and cannot be extended unto any other animal.
